Who We Are
The Madonia's are 4th generation bakers with roots dating back to Italy. Tony Madonia Sr. moved from upstate New York in early in the 1980s and relocated in Las Vegas. The three generation bakery had been started by Tony Madonia Sr's father, Augie Madonia (now deceased), his wife Linda and Tony Sr. It is currently owned and operated by Tony, his wife Lynn and his son Tony Madonia, Jr.
The heart of production beats along Great Buns' high-speed roll line. We make a wide varity of hearth-baked rolls and deli breads.
Great Buns' growth matches that of its market, Las Vegas, which, for a long time, was the nation's fastest-growing city. We have kept up. We rely on creative products, high quality standards and superior customer service and have maintained efficiency by using state of the art equipment in making our breads and rolls. Great Buns operates 365 days a year, just like many of our Las Vegas customers.
Anthony Madonia Sr.
Tony has been involved with baking most of his life. When he moved to Las Vegas in the early 80s, he joined his father with a small shop, originally located on East Charleston Avenue in Las Vegas. Together they developed a loyal clientel with fresh breads and rolls that, until then, were unavaiable in town. Over the years ,the company has grown from a small mom and pop business to one of the largest totally automated bakeries in Las Vegas. Tony's forward thinking has fueled aggressive growth that has resulted in the beautiful facility that exists today.
Lynn Madonia
Lynn works tirelessly to market and sell Great Buns product. She is well known not only by many loyal customers that frequent our retail store, but also by many chefs thoughout Las Vegas. If you are opening a new restaurant, or if you just want to serve better baked goods, ask for her. She will provide knowlegable advice about what breads or rolls would best suit your business.
She is the public face of Great Buns Bakery.
Our Mission
It is the philosophy of Great Buns Bakery to provide the best product possible at the lowest possible price. We carry this philosophy into all aspects of our business.
"The bitter taste of poor quality lasts far longer than the sweet taste of low prices."--Tony Madonia Jr.
Anthony Madonia, Jr.
Tony Jr. joined his father after Great Buns moved from East Charleston Avenue to its current location. He is involved in all aspects of managing Great Buns. You will often see him out on the floor overseeing the operation.
Many of the innovative improvements made to the bakery over the years are directly attributable to him and his skills in implementing them.
